A project of hope.
On April 17, 2017, I painted a little painting that changed my life. It was at this moment that I met the sky for the very first time. Our relationship has since surpassed that of artist and model. It now feels oddly intimate, as if I’ve been studying it my whole life.
BLUE SKIES became my project of hope.
It was my moment of discovery.
When hurricane season took an unimaginable toll this year, my heart ached for everyone affected. My family is no stranger to the destruction caused by these devastating beasts. Hurricane Sandy in 2012 destroyed our beloved home on Fire Island, New York. It was a mournful loss that left us recovering for years, physically and emotionally. I realized that BLUE SKIES need not be mine alone. It has the capacity to reach across the world to help others. Net proceeds from all BLUE SKIES sales will benefit victims of natural disaster.
BLUE SKIES is now their project of hope too.
With love and gratitude,
Carolina Della Valle
In order for me to continue painting BLUE SKIES and maintaining it's mission, a small portion of all paintings sold will be used to cover the cost of art supplies and packaging materials.
Donations will be made to Para La Naturaleza. In addition to their direct community relief efforts surrounding their 60 nature reserves throughout Puerto Rico, Para la Naturaleza focuses on sustainable agricultural efforts, reforestation and restoration of Puerto Rico's natural habitats.
